RELIGIONS OF FIFE

Diversity of faith

Fife’s faith communities are much more diverse than the 2011 census figures below suggest, with many more minority faiths represented within the community, such as Baha'i, Tibetan Buddhist, Western Wisdom Tradition, Eckankar and Pagan. Fife also hosts the only Coptic Church in Scotland at Link Street Kirkcaldy

The different faiths are quite evenly spread throughout Fife, but the Catholic population increases significantly in Central Fife. This is likely to be due to migration from Western Scotland to Glenrothes and surrounding areas during the 1950s

The small Jewish population in Fife is concentrated in the St. Andrews area. This may be due to the influence of the University as well as the town’s close proximity to Dundee.
